I finally got the nose surgery I had been thinking about for years at 10am today and got out at 11:30! I had to be hospitalized for 6 hours because of the actual cost, so I'm still in the hospital lol.
You've been living far away from Seoul for a while, and you sold all your handmade items at Seongyesa, right? So, I don't know anyone, but I feel like I need to let them know haha.
It doesn't hurt yet, but my throat is really, really dry. I'm constantly drinking water... I have rhinitis, so I'm used to breathing through my mouth to some extent, but usually one nostril is blocked and the other is open, but it's uncomfortable to try to breathe only through my mouth. My mouth keeps getting dry. I'm already waiting to have my nose removed tomorrow.
I came alone for the surgery, and my guardian came right on time when the surgery was over. So the guardian did the watering and such things, but I think it would be better and less boring if the guardian could come. But I don't think it's necessary... I can walk around, and if the hospital teachers say I need something, they take care of it. I brought my MacBook, connected it to wireless Internet, and responded to company emails! At first, I felt dizzy and kept falling asleep, but luckily I woke up quickly after talking with my guardian. For those who do not come with a guardian, I recommend doing a video call or something like that with friends they are comfortable with. The
essential item is a water bottle. I think it would be good to bring a light but large one. Of course, it is difficult to get dressed when wearing a splint, so make sure you have a lot of room around your neck or fill it in front. Enter the entrance with the type of clothing you wear. A highly recommended item that I hadn’t thought of was lip balm! My guardian brought me some Kiehl's lip balm that I use, and usually when I put it on, I feel moisturized almost all day, right? But now I reapply it several times. My lips are also dry..
The hospital where I had surgery does not take pictures immediately after surgery, so I asked for it, but fortunately, they took pictures of me immediately after surgery and before I got up/before I put on the splint and sent them to me. I was curious because it would take quite a while to remove the splint and the swelling would likely continue even after it was removed. Since the swelling doesn't seem to be that bad right after surgery, I recommend asking the hospital for help. I'm curious... I had nose surgery, but I haven't been able to see what it looks like for a long time ㅠㅠ But I don't have a picture of the front, only the side, so I'm a bit curious, so I think it would be good to ask them to do both the front and side.
I thought about it for a very long time, but I'm glad that all the effort I put into it didn't seem to be in vain. Everyone, do your research carefully and don't make a hasty decision. Post-surgery care is also important, so take some time to rest after the surgery and hope that the surgery goes well without any side effects! I don't think I can share the photos because I'm a bit scared, and since I don't know the results of the surgery yet, it's a bit hard to recommend a hospital... But what I want to say is, thank you to everyone who left reviews and answered questions!
[+] Today is the 9th day after surgery, so I added:
In short, I recommend it!
To make a long story short, the day I covered with cotton was the most difficult. I heard that breathing through my mouth was much more dry than I expected. I heard there are hospitals that block it with cotton for 3 days, but I really don't think they can do that. Luckily, I went the next day and had the cotton removed, so I understood why everyone was waiting for the cotton to be removed hahaha. Why do you read posts here and say you're worried that your nose looks too lifted right after the surgery? There's a lot of talk about that, right? At first, I thought the tip of my nose was too lifted, but as time went by, the swelling went down and I became prettier. I was glad that the hospital provided detailed post-surgery care instructions and that the director monitored my progress every time I went to the hospital. I was able to take some time off, so I rested well this time and I think I recovered quickly. Of course, there was still some swelling and a slight yellow bruise, but since yesterday, I can go out with makeup without any problems. I like the way it looks and functions well so I can breathe well!
