Revision rhinoplasty completed at ㅂㄷㄴ on September 1st
(slightly shaving the beak, slightly reducing the columella, performing nose tip surgery with ear cartilage, no silicone or other implants used)
Surgery day September 1st
Reservation made at 10 a.m. on the day of surgery So, when I arrived at the hospital, I washed my face, looked at the counselor and the director in turn, paid the surgery fee, and went to the operating room.
This was my second surgery. After the first surgery, I had the experience of feeling like I had a surrogate surgery (though it's just a feeling;;). Feeling anxious, I asked to film the surgery scene, and the director took a picture of the surgery scene with my phone and saved it (I told you 3 times in case I couldn't film it, but it might have seemed like the truth... sorry hahaha)
. They take pictures to confirm that the surgery will continue, so you don't have to worry about anything.
I opened my eyes in the recovery room around 12:45 and felt a bit dizzy and drowsy.
The director came and told me that I had some kind of surgery, and left, and my nose was sore. There was no discomfort other than a slightly spicy feeling. It
was very easy to breathe because they didn't put cotton in my nose because I didn't touch my nasal septum. When I was
discharged from the hospital around 1:30, I stopped by the pharmacy and bought prescription medication, 3 types of anti-swelling medication (danggui oxalic acid, Tripline, Berad tablets), and sterilized cotton swabs and went for a walk. I took the subway and came home.
I woke up at that time because I wanted to go home quickly and rest comfortably, but if I'm not feeling well, I feel like I can ask to rest a little more. On the day of surgery, there was no pain in both my nose and ears, and there was almost no swelling (it was only a little swollen in the evening)
. ?)
As the evening went on, nosebleeds and secretions clogged my nose
, making it a little difficult to breathe, but I still slept well while breathing through my nose. When I
woke up on September
2nd,
my nose became more clogged, so I started breathing through my mouth, and there was a brief tingling sensation at the tip of my nose. I had a throbbing ear pain that wasn't there that day in the morning, but it got better in the evening. I went
to the hospital and got disinfected and an injection for swelling, but the lady on the 5th floor who did this was very kind and cheerful, so I felt better. Since there was no pain, I kept
touching my nose and ears without thinking. cool down; Thanks to this, I had a bit of a hard time sleeping that day,
so I diligently disinfected, applied medication, and went for a walk. The swelling was similar to that of the evening of the first day. Although I
took anti-swelling medication regularly on
September 3rd
and went for a walk , I started to feel really swollen around lunch. It was either because I ate tteokbokki on the day of surgery and ate steamed crab and leftover tteokbokki the next day, or it was
originally 3. There are many reviews saying that the swelling peaks on the 5th day, so I thought it was because of it, but
in the evening, my hands and feet were all swollen and I felt a tingling sensation. I looked at the side effects of the 3 types of medication and found that the side effects of Berad tablets (same as Banosin) were pseudoaldosteronism. There was a side effect of swelling of the face, hands and feet.
It is said to be a side effect caused by the licorice ingredient, but I was suspicious that it was because Donggui Fishery also contains licorice, and
after confirming this side effect, I reduced the swelling to 2 types, excluding Berad tablets. (I bought 4 boxes a week, but 2 boxes of new ones remained. On the day of removing the stitches, I went to the pharmacy to get a refund)
And on this day, I washed my hair for the first time after the surgery, but I didn't want water to get on my nose and ears, so I put a hole in the mouth of a disposable hair cap, put it on my face, and washed my hair. Haha, for about a day on September 4th, Berard
Jeong
. Since I didn't eat, the feeling of swelling in my hands and feet had definitely subsided around evening, so I was relieved.
However, my face was puffy,
so I applied cold compresses hard. I slept on the recliner sofa for two days after the surgery, but it was so uncomfortable that I started sleeping in bed with cushions and pillows from the third night.
September On the 5th to 6th day,
the swelling around the eyes disappeared a lot and became similar to the 1st and 2nd days when there was almost no swelling. The swelling
disappeared and I started to neglect compresses.
On the 4th day, I thought it was surprising that the nose incision scar was not red and barely visible, but as expected, it became a little red.
9 On the 7th of every month,
on the long-awaited splint removal day,
I went to the hospital to remove the stitches and splint, put on molding to prevent my ear cartilage from deforming, and after seeing the doctor once, I got a nose scrub and a laser for swelling (the molding is only used for 1-2 weeks, except when it touches water). They say to wear it 24 hours a day, but I plan on wearing it a little longer just in case.)
After removing the splint, I saw... It was a nose bong ㅠㅠㅠ
Maybe it was because the columella was slightly shortened, but the philtrum looked longer, and when I looked in the mirror, I was so surprised to see a child who looked like a cheerful cartoon character. I knew it was just
swelling, but... I knew about my head, but my heart was a little... It was like that.
Also, the incision in the front where the ear cartilage was removed was made on a side that is so hard to see that it's hard for me to look at it in the mirror, and there's almost no scar, but the part where the cartilage was removed is sticking out behind the ear
. Since the cartilage that held it together has disappeared, it seems like a natural phenomenon that occurs when that part becomes dented..? However, when viewed from the front or side, the shape of the ears is the same, so if you are about to have nose surgery with ear cartilage for the first time, it would be a good idea to mentally prepare in advance. September 8-10 The eyebrows, bridge of the nose, and even the bridge of the nose are all
very
swollen, but they are not falling out. I had stressful days where I wasn't sure if
the hair was falling out because it was so subtle or not. I was looking at other people's reviews of swelling that had lasted for several months and was anxious about what would happen if it didn't go away like this. Then, I suddenly thought, should I try a cold compress instead of a hot compress? I had this thought, so I applied a cold compress on the evening of the 10th, and it felt like the swelling had gone down a bit more. On
September 11,
was it time for it to go down in the first place, or was it really thanks to the cold compress? It was noticeable that the swelling had gone down. I still have a
nose bump and a lot of swelling between the eyebrows. However, I am starting to feel that I have become prettier rather than ugly.
Since there is still a lot of swelling, I can see a bit of asymmetry on both sides, but now I won't be anxious and will just keep an
eye on it. The nose incision area has healed well, and there is still some redness, but it's not that bad, so it's less noticeable when I apply Fucidin.
