After thinking and researching for a long time, I went to hospitals that were mentioned on the nose and went to a lot of consultations. I had the surgery. It has been two months now. Since
Whee Plastic Surgery does not have many reviews, I had a hard time reading the reviews before the surgery, but I thought it might be helpful to those who are thinking about it. I'm leaving a review.
Ever since I was young, I had a huge complex about facial asymmetry, a crooked nose, a hooked beak, and an arrow nose.
In addition, one nostril was blocked, so it was painfully difficult to breathe through the nose. Moreover, due to chronic rhinitis, the nose was often blocked, so I could not breathe through the nose and had no choice but to breathe through the mouth.
First of all, I wanted to correct the crooked nose with an osteotomy without using foreign substances such as silicone, reposition the alar cartilage with autologous cartilage, and improve the sagging bridge of the nose between the eyebrows.
While I was thinking about rhinoplasty for a very long time and doing related research to solve my cosmetic complex and functional problems, I came across a blog run by Dr. Se-Hwi Hwang two years ago.
Through the blog, how to improve functional problems including nasal valves, how the technique of forcibly raising the tip of the nose by placing a support on the nasal septum deviates from the normal anatomical structure, and how to perform it without deviating from the normal structure as much as possible
. There was an explanation of the correlation between relocation and vector, and I learned a lot by reading it one by one.
Since I am currently studying design that deals with 3D objects, I am very interested in structure, and the concept of vectors, which considers tension and compression, force and direction in the support structure, really struck me.
When I actually visited and consulted with the teacher, he said that depending on what kind of nose shape you want, cartilage is processed and transplanted according to the image. To
improve a hooked, arrow-shaped nose or a bowed nose, the cheekbones and maxilla have different volumes and heights, and from the forehead to the philtrum. Since the central axis of each part, including the tip of the chin, is different,
the crooked nose cannot be completely corrected, but the surgery is performed in a way that improves the appearance.
I went to several hospitals for consultations, but I was deeply moved and felt a sense of trust as Dr. Hwang explained in detail the surgical method and reason that appealed to me the most.
I went to another consultation before the surgery, prepared several images of areas I wanted to improve
, and made a surgical plan that included restoring the support structure for the tip of the nose with costal cartilage, raising the bridge of the nose with nasal septum cartilage, and repositioning the alar cartilage.
Immediately after surgery, the pain in the area where the costal cartilage was removed was much more painful than the pain in my nose. When there was gauze in my nose, it was very difficult to breathe through the mouth, my eyes hurt, my ears went blank, and it was even more difficult to breathe when I lay down.
I had an osteotomy and had to wear a splint for a bit longer, and the swelling was so severe that I only had one side of the gauze removed on the 5th day, and I still remember that day.
After removing both gauze, I was so happy that I didn't know that it felt like air rushing in and that it was so easy to breathe through both nostrils, unlike before the surgery.
The teacher put a lot of emphasis on cold compresses on the first day, but I fell asleep while applying cold compresses, so I couldn't do much... The next day, my face was swollen to the point of bursting, but after about two weeks, the swelling went down a lot, almost like a human, and I was able to go outside with a bare face.
At first, the tip of my nose was a bit hard due to swelling and looked plump when viewed from the front, but it is gradually reducing in volume and becoming slimmer each day. I also like how the nostrils are positioned naturally.
The tissue around the nose and tip is still settling in, so it looks a little off to the side, but I like the shape of the tip and overall line, so I'm watching the progress as I hope it will settle in well.
They said that about 6 months after the surgery, the scar tissue will change into normal tissue and change shape and settle down, so I am waiting with peace of mind to look more beautiful.
